CARCHECKHQ REPORT GUIDE

Vehicle maintenance checks before buying

A car can have plausible history records and still need maintenance. Establish what has been done and what is due using the correct information for the vehicle.

Current coverage

The current feed does not supply a verified maintenance schedule or a completed-work assessment. CarCheckHQ does not generate model-specific service intervals or repair quotations from missing data.

How to interpret coverage and missing information

Start with the correct service requirements

Use the vehicle handbook and manufacturer guidance for the relevant model, engine and age. Ask a qualified workshop to clarify requirements if the records or specification are uncertain. A generic mileage threshold is not a substitute for the correct schedule.

Separate work due from work completed

A service interval says when work is expected; an invoice or service record documents what was recorded as completed. Compare both with the vehicle's age and mileage, and investigate gaps. An MOT pass does not replace this evidence.

Before you make a decision

  • Find the relevant manufacturer service schedule.
  • Request dated invoices and service records.
  • Ask an independent workshop to assess upcoming work and condition.

Common questions

Will the report tell me exactly when a timing belt is due?

Not from the current feed. Check the correct manufacturer's requirements for the specific engine and ask for evidence of previous work.
